Alfred (Mike) Wertheim age 100 of Fort Lee passed away peacefully on January 12, 2023. Alfred was born in Kerschin, Germany to the late Meier and Clara Wertheim. At age of 21, Alfred served in the United State Army as an interpreter in the Intelligence Unit known as The Ritchie Boys. Preceded in death by his loving, wife, Libby and their loving son David. Survived by his beloved daughter in-law Diana and husband, James Kilkenny, Cousins; David Simon, Alfred Youngheim and Al Strauss; Brother in-law Benjamin and wife Charlotte Litwin; Sisters In-law Charlotte Lorberbaum and Nancy Litwin; Nephew Mark, wife Lilian Wertheim and their son Evan; Nephew Aaron Lorberbaum, Shari Litwin, Wayne and wife, Lynn Litwin, Jeffrey and wife Jenny Lorberbaum, Robert and wife Karen Litwin, and their Children, Special friends from Sisterhood of New Synagogue; Paulette, Lisa, Paula, Miriam and Melissa; Ron, wife Rena Mayer and Lifelong friend, Harry Speicer and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16th at 11 am at Eden Memorial Chapel, 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, NJ 07024.
Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery 12 market street, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Mike to the charity of your choice.
