David M Shiffman
December 19, 1945 ~ August 5, 2023
Shiffman, David M, age 77, of Cliffside Park, and most recently River Vale, NJ, passed peacefully on August 5th 2023. David was Vice President of Cornell Surgical Co, founded by his late father John, and ran the medical supplies company with his brother Howard for almost 50 years. His many interests and curiosities also extended to local civics, where David served as chairman of the West New York Parking Authority. David loved to travel and accomplished many bucket list trips, including cruising through the Panama Canal and seeing operas in Verona, Italy. Even after suffering a stroke in 2015, David’s positive and humorous spirit continued to shine.
Devoted father of Blair Shiffman Levy (and soon-to-be grandfather to “baby Levy”). Dear Brother of Howard Shiffman. David will be missed dearly.

I was honored to be included with David’s buddies on boys’ night at the River Palm as far back as I can remember.
After his stroke
I will always remember Dave playing basketball at WNY JCC and having some great times. It was fun growing up and going to the Shiffman house to swim at probably one of the only swimming pools in WNY. My wonderful, caring friend will be missed .

I remember going to the Shaare Zedak community center. We use to go the lounge, play the jukebox and dance.
David was on the the center’s basketball team and I was a cheerleader. We once played a team from Bensonhurst, Bklyn. It was an overnight trip. We had a lot of laughs on the bus to & from the center.
Years went by & eight of us reunited. Every few months we met for dinner at the River Palm and reminisced about the good old days.
David was so easy going, kind and generous. I will sure miss him. RIP.
