Sending heartfelt condolences from me and my daughter in Buffalo, NY to Estelle’s husband Barry and their son Jacob, and to her mother Bella and brother Murray. I regret that I will not be at the service for my cousin Ettie. May her memory always be for blessing. I have included a photo of Ettie and me taken in the Bronx in the 1970s.
Holly, this is Estelle’s husband Barry. Did we ever meet Estelle was a wonderful person, wife and mother. This June would have been our 35th wedding anniversary. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. Thank you for posting the great photo and comments. Best regards.
Barry, we met at your wedding at the Botanical Gardens. Years later I saw Estelle once at her mom’s when she was still living in her apartment. Visited Bella with my aunt Jen and another cousin. Estelle came by and so did Murray. It was a very nice visit. I know Estelle was a wonderful person, wife, mother, sister and daughter. I am so very sorry for your loss. I always loved this photo. So glad I knew where it was and I could share it with you. I wish the service was available on line.
I wish I had known her better and that we had stayed in touch.

To Barry & Jacob – From a former working colleague of Estelle from the early 1980’s to 1997 – I need to express my rememberance of Estelle – Estelle was always kind with her words, helpful to others, smart about things that went on in our difficult line of work, astute and preceptive in her handling of people (especially the difficult ones), she was easy to have a laugh with, open-minded about any subject and was always good company. I enjoyed when she would occasionally make fun of a word that I used and would correct me with a word that had a more precise meaning for the given situation. I always admired Estelles precision with words and their meaning of how they are used to communicate. I first met Estelle from our days together at Marine Midland when we worked on the oil and gas portfolio of restructurings in the early 1980s and then later from 1987 when she joined TIAA and we worked on the many investments in need of financial and operational restructuring. This was always challenging & difficult work that required a wide range of skills which Estelle brought to the table every day. I will remember and miss her smile and laughter and the time that we spent together toiling in the fields that we called our work. – Damien
Hi Holly For some mistake that I made your comment about when we met, etc. has been deleted from the Tribute page. Can you please add it again. We are having a Zoom Shiva video for Estelle next week. Please let me know if you would like to attend.
Dear Barry, Jacob and family of Estelle, Im very sorry for your loss. I was very touched by the special service today. I was working for Estelle and other Directors at TIAA in early 2000s when I was fortunate to work with her on many transactions. Besides being extremely bright and thoughtful, she was a pleasure to work with due to her kind and cheerful disposition. She made everything and everyone better. I will always remember her and how much she loved her family. Her love for you all will live on forever. I consider myself lucky to have met her on my life path! May her memory be a blessing!
Dearest Barry, Jacob, Murray and Aunt Bella, My heart aches for the loss of our Ettie. I only have wonderful memories of her sweetness towards me and my siblings. She had the most beautiful smile and practical and firm stance on her beliefs. She gave her everything always and especially for Jacob. A devoted and loving mother, always committed to his best. I wish I had been able to hold her hand through these painful and courageous last few years. I know were blessed to have loved and been loved by Ettie! May her memory be for a blessing. I love yall. Holding you all in comfort.
Marietta Thank you for your condolences and attending the service yesterday. Both are greatly appreciated. Please let me know the name of the other person who was with you nand convey our thanks again to her. Barry
