Harryette Friedland

Harryette Adaline Friedland was born on August 18, 1927. She grew up in Newport News, Virginia, the only child of Robert and Anna Cohen. After high school she moved to New York City and studied nutrition at New York University. She married Michael Friedland in 1949, and they remained married for 60 years before his passing in 2009.

Harryette was beloved mother to Steven (Linda) and Joanne (Robert), grandmother to Richard, Amy (Micah) and Alex (Brett), great grandmother to Jonah, Jesse, Chloe and Dylan.

She was a woman of intelligence and kindness, filled with dignity and inner strength. She had deep love for family and friends. Those who knew her well understood and admired the beauty inside and out that she possessed. She will be sorely missed.

A graveside service will be held at Beth El Cemetery, Paramus, NJ on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 1 PM. Shiva will be immediately following the service and until 8 PM Thursday at the home of Joanne and Robert Nussbaum.
