Warner, Harvey I., age 81, of Fort Lee, New Jersey, on July 21, 2016. He was born in Newark, New Jersey and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. Harvey was in the furniture business for most of his life and was a talented artist and writer. He was a graduate of Weequahic High School in Newark and Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. He was an avid sports fan, always rooting for his beloved New York Yankees, New York Knicks, and New York Rangers. Harvey’s greatest love was his wife of over 18 years, Rita Warner, and their six children, three each from their respective prior marriages, who they fondly called their “Brady Bunch.”
Harvey was predeceased by his beloved father, David L. Warner, and his beloved mother, Beatrice Warner, nee Kleinfeld. He is survived by his wife, Rita Warner, nee Scellato; his sister, Rita “Cookie” Wisser and her husband, Jack; his son, Steven Warner and his fianc, Wendy Sikorski; his daughter, Lisa Jacobson and her husband, Greg; his daughter, Heidi Warner-Richardson and her husband, Peter; his daughter, Debra Wolfel; his daughter Lori Horbiak, and her husband Rich; and his son, Michael J. Scellato, III and his wife, Dina. Harvey is also survived by 11 grandchildren, David Warner, Brian Warner, Briana Jacobson, Benjamin Jacobson, Samantha Jacobson, Jake Richardson, Danielle Horbiak, Brandon Horbiak, Kate Wolfel, Casey Scellato, and Michael J. Scellato, IV.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, July 25 at 11:00 a.m. at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ. The family will be sitting shiva and welcomes all friends and family to the home of Steven Warner and Wendy Sikorski, 147 Haas Road, Basking Ridge, NJ, on Monday evening, July 25 from 4:00 pm.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to either the American Cancer Society or Grace Healthcare/Hospice Services, Raritan Plaza III, 105 Fieldcrest Avenue, Suite 402, Edison, NJ 08837.
