I’m sorry to admit that I just found out about Sonny’s death. We had corresponded rather regularly for years as he provided me with information for my screenplay about Kitty Kallen. Not only was Sonny very generous in answering all of my questions about Kitty, he also was kind enough to share his own story. Kitty was blessed to have three wonderful men in her life – Budd Granoff, Jonathan Granoff, and Sonny Shiell. And each of them were blessed to be a large part of her life.
