Jimmy was born in Crown Heights, Brooklyn on Empire Blvd. He met the love of his life, Frances through his sister Vera while studying at Brooklyn College. They eventually moved from an apartment in Brooklyn with their one year old son Michael, to Paramus in 1975. Sarabeth came into the family a year later in 1976. Fran and Jim lived in Paramus for 33 years until the love of his life passed in 2008.
The family has always had a love and a pull toward the beach, which Jim leaned on when he relocated to Bradley beach and made it his home base. The ocean continues to give the family direction.
His greatest joys were in being a husband, father, grandfather.
Donations can be made in Jimmy’s honor to Families Anonymous WSO, Mary’s Place By The Sea, and/or Cancercare.

I can’t say that I knew him well but the times that I did spend with him his light shined through. It was obvious how much he loved his family and being near the ocean. He will leave a great void in many peoples lives so please reach out to those he left behind and offer a shoulder to lean on. My condolences to all, love, Arlene
I knew Jimmy and his family early in his courtship with Frances. In fact, as France’s cousin, I was a member of their wedding party. I have not been in touch in recent years but did think of him often and was happy to see his picture pop up on Facebook. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to all, Florence
I was very young when I met Jimmy – through Fran (my cousin). He always had a smile on his face and a light hearted joke to tell or an amusing anecdote.
With distance separating us (Canada – USA) over the years we’d only see each other’s Families at Family events.
I send my Condolences to the Extended Family.
May His soul rest in peace.

The Graber family will never be able to say enough about Jim. He was gentle, yet firm, kindhearted, optimist, entertaining, caring, a great listener and so much more. We shared a special bond with all the Kossove’s and Jim was always present. He will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.

Jimmy was a very sweet man. He and Fran were a lovely couple and I always enjoyed and looked forward to their visits. My condolences to Michael and family and to Sarabeth. Love Marilyn, a Montreal cousin.
