Mina Doris Winograd

March 5, 2021
Winograd, Mina Doris nee Singer, age 94, of Fort Lee, passed peacefully on Friday March 5, 2021. Born and raised in Jersey City, she worked as an executive assistant at New Jersey City University for many years before she retired. She was an avid ballroom dancer, and although she looked like a glamorous princess, she loved the working people most, and was equally loved back by everyone she encountered. The hallmark of Doris was her genuine respect for all manner of people. She was devoted to her family and never tired of boasting about her adoring grandchildren to her numerous daily phone callers. She and her companion of many recent years, Mr. Jim Magee, were like the King and Queen of the prom at the Fort Lee senior dinner dances, which often ended with the Chief of the Fort Lee Police shepherding them home in a police cruiser with flashers going. Her loving family and wide circle of friends will truly miss her feisty spirit, her gushing words of praise, and her steady presence in their lives.
Beloved wife of the late Leonard Winograd. Devoted mother of Steven, Richard, and his wife Audrey, grandmother of Emily Winograd and her husband Ben Zion Ferziger, Amanda Winograd and her partner Alec Schnur, and numerous nieces and nephews.
