Neil Marc Haymes
October 28, 2021
Neil Haymes was an incredible soul. He had a gentle manner and a giving heart. Neil was a loving companion of seven years to his partner, Barbara Tillman. They both met as volunteers at The Adler Aphasia Center in Maywood, New Jersey. It was in this special environment that Neil had an opportunity to give back, helping individuals at The Center wherever he could be useful. His presence, laughter and kindness will be missed by all. In memory of Neil Haymes, please make any donations to The Adler Aphasia Center, 60 West Hunter Ave., Maywood, MJ 07607.

We shared many happy times with Barb and Neil over victuals of all sorts, and he will be sorely missed. We also attended several plays at the Aphasia Center in Maywood with them, with laughs galore. One thing we will not have now is Neil appearing in one of those plays. Dick was especially proud when Neil and Barb came to the SESCIL Center in Englewood to hear him sing Nothin’ Like a Dame from South Pacific as his solo with the fabulous Larry Woodard’s voice class. Our hearts are heavy as we think of Barb…remember mostly the good times, wonderful lady!!!
Thank you, Neil, for giving years of happiness to Barbara, and to sharing your kind spirit and friendship with those of us at the Adler Aphasia Center. — Bruce Kalter
I have just learned of the news of Neils passing. I am shocked and saddened. I want to send my deepest condolences to his family and friends. Neil was a family friend of ours that had an enormous impact on all of us. To know him was to love him. He was incredibly helpful to my father after he suffered a brain aneurysm at a very young age, having gone through a similar experience. I cannot express how much my brothers, cousins and I adored him. My entire family. Its an understatement. I just felt compelled to write on here, in the hopes that his loved ones know how special he was to many many people.
