He influenced generations of successful accounting students as a legendary professor of accounting at CW Post College and Dowling College and co-founder and instructor at the Person/Wolinsky CPA Review Course.
He was co-founder and first president of the Suffolk County Chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs and served on the board of the state society.
Sam was passionate about giving back to his community. He served as comptroller of the town of Brookhaven and was active in local politics. He co-founded and served as president of Temple Isaiah in Stony Brook, NY and as board member and chairman of Saint Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY.

  1. Deepest condolences to Joan and her family. Sam was one of a kind. We fought and we laughed and he was instrumental in helping my son in the medical administrative field. I will never forget the years we worked together. Sam, you will always be remembered.

  2. Having known Lou, Sam’s son, for years, I am sure that Sam was so proud of his son. Lou has a heart of gold and sounds a lot like his Dad.

  3. I send my condolences to the family. When you lose someone you love its very hard, however Almighty God promise us at John 528,29 that there will be a resurrection on a paradise on earth, how nice its going to be to see our love ones again I hope these scriptures from the Bible will comfort your family.
