Born in: Zamosc, Poland
Resided in: Cliffside Park, NJ

Sylvia F. Sherr (nee: Feldstein), age 93, of Cliffside Park, NJ formerly of Warren, NJ, passed while she was lovingly surrounded by family in her home on May 7, 2024. Born in Zamosc, Poland she immigrated with her family to the United States in 1938. She earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Humanities and was an impactful educator and talented artist. Sylvia spent much of her career as an elementary school teacher for the Bound Brook School District where she passionately worked and influenced the lives of students, their families, and her colleagues. Her creativity and curiosity led her into the next chapter of her life creating art and traveling the world, whilst collecting new information, friends and experiences. When she wasn’t busy with her endless hunger for knowledge and enjoying theater, knitting, books and puzzles, she was trying to befriend any cat or dog that crossed her path. Though life threw her a few curve balls, her tenacious spirit carried through to the end, exemplified best by beating cancer six times and going on to be featured in art exhibits (promoted on her Instagram) at the age of 92. Her boundless strength and resilience have and will be an inspiration to those whose lives she’s touched.
